What
to See
Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principle market towns in the northern Cotswolds and there is still a busy Tuesday market with about 200 stalls attacting many visitors.
The town is an ideal base for either visiting some of the beautiful local National Trust sites or maybe go for a lovely country walk through the Cotswolds

Chastleton House
A rare gem of a Jacobean country house, Chastleton House was built between 1607 and 1612 by a wealthy wool merchant as an impressive statement of wealth and power. Owned by the same increasingly impoverished family until 1991, the house remained essentially unchanged for nearly 400 years as the interiors and contents gradually succumbed to the ravages of time. With virtually no intrusion from the 21st century, this fascinating place exudes an informal and timeless atmosphere in a gloriously unspoilt setting. There is no shop or tea-room, so you can truly believe you have stepped back in time.
Snowshill Manor
Charles Wade embodied his family motto 'Let nothing perish', spending his life and inherited wealth amassing a spectacular collection of everyday and extraordinary objects from across the globe. He bought objects because of their colour, craftsmanship and design, restoring the ancient, golden-yellow Cotswold manor house to display them. Laid out theatrically according to Mr Wade¿s wishes, the Manor is literally packed to the rafters with 22,000 or so unusual objects – from tiny toys to splendid suits of Samurai armour. The Manor is surrounded by an intriguing terraced hillside garden designed in the Arts & Crafts style.
Hidcote Manor
Hidcote is one of England's great gardens. Designed and created by the horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston in the Arts & Crafts style, it is made up of exquisite garden rooms, each possessing its own special character. Visitors will discover rare shrubs and trees, outstanding herbaceous borders and unusual plant species. The garden changes in harmony with the seasons, from vibrant spring bulbs to autumn's glorious Red Border. Nestled in the Cotswolds with sweeping views across the Vale of Evesham, Hidcote is appealing all year round.
Upton House and Gardens
Join the guests of Lord and Lady Bearsted and experience the weekend house party of a 1930s millionaire. Surrounded by the internationally important art and porcelain collections, hear and discover more about family life and join in the atmosphere of the party. See the red and silver art deco bathroom and get close to art works by El Greco, Stubbs and Bosch. The stunning gardens – being returned to their 1930s heyday – consist of a sweeping lawn, giving way to a series of terraces and herbaceous borders leading to a kitchen garden, tranquil water garden and the National Collection of Asters.
